What is wellness?

Wellness has become very popular in recent years. But many don’t understand the meaning of wellness or can mislead it to wellbeing or health. Let’s define wellness and understand the meaning of it. Wellness is a practice of healthy lifestyle that is composed of a few dimensions (sometimes 9-12): physical, mental, social, emotional, spiritual, environmental. Wellness is an individual way of leading a conscious lifestyle that is focused on 6 dimensions listed above.
Physical. Taking care of our physical body through exercise, nourishment and other important physical aspects.
Mental. Creativity, problem solving and brain engaging activities help to keep our mind sharp.
Social. Connecting with a supportive community, friends and family.

Emotional. Expressing feelings, emotions and understanding other people's feelings and emotions.
Spiritual. Understanding the way of life and searching for a higher purpose.
Environmental. The relationship between humanity and the planet. Important aspects of it as sustainability, conservation of natural resources and preservation of the planet.
To conclude, wellness focuses on prevention (rather than treatment) and healthy lifestyle. Optimal wellness is the foundation that can help to overcome diseases today and in the future.
