Major brands nowadays are taking more actions in designing and offering sustainable types of household products and clothing. Which makes us feel good by taking action and supporting the ones that are taking big steps in that process. Here are a few ways to improve environmental wellness today:
1. Recycle. Recycling is not something new but a lot of us ignore the fact that by sorting our own trash can help with pollution problems. Sorting your own trash means paper trash, plastic bottles go into the recycling bin and not recyclable trash goes into other bin. One time plastic or paper packaging has a recycling sign (usually triangular shape) and if you don’t see it you can confidently throw it into regular trash that won’t be recycled.
2. Reuse. Having your own reusable water bottle, shopping totes and purchasing pre-loved clothing can help the environment a lot. By reducing the quantity of the unwanted items in the landfill.
3. Donate. Donating shoes, clothing and household items can greatly help other families in need. It also provides jobs for those who make a living out of reselling used clothing and shoes (other countries in particular).
4. Conserve electricity and water. Turn off the light when you leave or not using the room and limit the amount of water while bathing or doing home chores.
5. Stop junk mail and sign up for paperless statements. That step not only will help to save the environment (by preserving the trees) but will keep your space clean from unnecessary clutter.
6. Limit the use of your vehicle (if possible) and walk, ride a bike or take public transportation. It is not only an eco-friendly way of transportation but a good way to support your overall health.
